Why I did it
The root-cause problem is described here: the failure mode or design gap that motivated the project, stated in measurable terms.
Real-world constraints include weight limits, timeline, competition rules, and structural loads. The project objective is to meet these boundaries with traceable analysis.
What I did
01
Calculations and analytical modeling
Load paths, thermal behavior, or circuit equations that govern the geometry and component choices.
02
Design and CAD/EDA implementation
Geometry, tolerance stack-ups, and component selection carried from the analysis into the model.
03
Hands-on fabrication and assembly
Machining, welding, 3D printing, or PCB assembly, with the build steps recorded in sequence.
Root-cause analysis
Each comparison records the observed failure mode, the manufacturing or thermal bottleneck, and the corrective engineering action taken.
Failure mode
The unexpected failure observed during testing, described with its measured conditions.
Manufacturing hurdle
The fabrication or tolerance issue that blocked the intended geometry, and how it was isolated.
Corrective action
The exact engineering change made, and the test planned to verify it.
Quantitative results and key lessons
Design for manufacturability, test validation results, and planned iteration improvements are summarized here as three numbered takeaways.
